Coleção: Fruit of Mother's Love

After many twists and turns, the time has come to present you our new collection, a moment I have eagerly awaited! Let me start by confiding in you that this is not just any collection, but a very special one that symbolizes a period of overcoming challenges, strength, and unwavering love. Allow me to share the story behind these unique garments, carefully created during an inspiring journey.

As you know, in previous collections, I sought to help a family I met during my long trip to India in 2019. I would order ready-made pieces and bring them to you. However, this time, I decided to embark on a different path.

It all began a year and a half ago when my mother was diagnosed with cancer, and a challenging battle began. I moved to her house to be by her side throughout the arduous process of treatments, and together, we embarked on the creation of this new collection, seeking beauty and distraction amidst the pain.

I started by ordering fabrics from another family I encountered during my journey in India. At that time, I fell in love with the technique they use for printing, and for a special collection like this, I had to order special fabrics too! The block printing technique used on these fabrics is centuries-old, passed down through generations. The entire process is done manually, from carving the wooden blocks with the designs for printing to adding color, one by one. In summary, it is more than a technique; it is an art!

After receiving the fabrics in Portugal, in partnership with my mother, we dedicated precious hours to creating the designs. We imagined, drew, tested, experimented, and adjusted patterns for this unique collection.

These past months have been incredible. The process of creation, intertwined with the involvement in her fight, brought us closer than ever. You can't imagine the joy and affection involved in this collaboration with my mother, my best friend.

Although I didn't have much experience in sewing, my mother, being the talented artist she is, did an exceptional job in making the first pieces. However, as her cancer treatments progressed and fatigue accumulated, it became challenging for her to sew the entire collection. We slowed down for a few months... That's when we hired a talented young woman named Catarina, with a big heart and golden hair, to complete the final pieces. A huge thank you to you, Catarina, for embarking on this adventure with us.

Over a year and a half, our journey has been marked by both happiness and pain, but also by immense resilience and companionship. Finally, at the end of last year, the long-awaited news arrived: my mother emerged victorious in her battle against cancer! Now, we are finally ready to reveal to you the collection we created as a result of this arduous journey. Each piece carries the love and dedication of a mother who fought with bravery and determination for her life, and of a daughter who found hope and inspiration in her mother's adversities.

So, here we are! I present to you more than just a clothing collection; it is a celebration of strength, love, and creation. I hope our garments convey to you the same courage and beauty that we witnessed during our journey.
